Before & After: Claire's Repurposed Spice Rack

081909before-01.jpgWe recognize that there are some instances where wood furniture should stay as is. But in Claire's case, a coat of shiny white paint transforms her spice rack into a beauty...

081909before-02.jpgFound for just fifty cents at a thrift store, Claire could see the potential of the previously used spice rack. Giving the vintage find a few coats of white paint, she hung it on the wall of her craft room for ribbon storage. We love the variety of colors paired with the area of white--making the ribbon rack appear brand new.

Great reuse of a dated piece! I don't think I would've seen the potential in this one but it turned out fabulous!

HeartsAndCrafts, I'm with you! Such pretty little ribbons, and what a brilliant way to store the skinnier ones - I have bunches of old wooden spools from my grandma that I'm going to go home and repurpose asap!

Yeah, this is totally great--simple, functional, cheap, and adorable. I now want to run out and do this myself--I have just the spot for it!!

Believe it or not I have more ribbons, so once I get a 2nd spice rack the drawer can go back into this one and hold small scraps of ribbon.

thanks for all the nice comments!
