Beth's Do It Now Project: Retro Green Side Table
Done!

022709table-01.jpgOver the course of a month, our little green side table has gone from vintage granny and gotten a sophisticated upgrade. Working when the weather allowed, it took us just under 6 hours to complete our Do It Now Project. We did have a few complications but the final product was definitely worth the trouble...

022709table-02.jpgYesterday, was our final session working on the side table. We still needed one more coat of shine added (and the Rustoleum Lacquer wasn't cutting it). It was either us or the Rustoleum but the table's surface was spotty. Smooth and shiny in some areas while other areas were left with a matte finish. We decided to hit up the Home Depot one last time and ask an expert for advice. They suggested BEHR's Interior/Exterior Hi-Gloss Enamel (Deep Base). The finished product is shiny (but we're still not completely satisfied). We are pleased with the mirror we had cut to fit between the drawers. Not to mention the vintage-looking glass knobs we picked up at Anthropologie over the weekend. The entire project cost was just under $80 (not bad since the side table was a donation).

Never thought I would ever see an application of mirror on furniture that I liked but you nailed it. Congrats on a great after.
