The $50 Ikea Hack Bathroom Sink

atla030508-ikeahacksink.jpgWhat to do when you when you want a $900 bathroom table and sink, but are on a limited budget? Get hackin' of course. Ikea hacker Karen took an Ikea Bekvam kitchen cart for $49.99, took a sabre saw to it, installed a sink, stained/sealed it, and then added all the necessary plumbing...

19722_PE072900_S4.jpgAll hardware and plumbing were purchased from the Expo Design Center (we can't find the exact sink used on the site). A commenter also mentioned creating a pedestal sink using a barstool for a small space bathroom, so even a small footprint could be created with the right complimentary sink. Just remember to waterproof seal any of wood pieces used.

Genius. Why do I never think of these things? Good thing someone thinks of them, and then blogs about it for the rest of us to shamelessly copy.

Great idea. Just opens up myriad possibilities for a kitchen cart. I bought two similar carts from Target a while ago. Now all I have to do is find them.

That is really fantastic! Although, I liked it better in the natural finish.
