We spotted this photo by Sam Moiler, and thought this idea was pretty neat: If you have a blah bed frame (like Ikea's Malm for example) and want to style it up, why not wallpaper the head and foot boards? It adds pattern to a room in smaller doses than papering up a wall, and is playfully unexpected.

Jenzoe, I'm pretty much absent on the DIY front as well, but most wallpaper is coated. If it's not, I don't think it would be hard to either brush or spray on some polyurethane.
