Yet Another DIY Closet: Chain + Branch + Hangers

081308_branchhanger.jpgIf yesterday's chain DIY clothes rack was too industrial for your taste, here's something a bit more...rustic: Find a branch outside, paint it white, and then loop it through two chains and hang it from the ceiling. Definitely a more traditional clothes rack; and in the right place, it would look pretty inventive (especially if there was this wallpaper behind it perhaps?).

could make a cool room divider or curtain rod, too.

I used branches (not painted white) as curtain rods, once, with dragonfly hooks supporting them. They were cute.

How did I know you were going to suggest the Cole & Sons wallpaper without clicking on the link! Haha. Love this.

This is so pretty, but I think for it to really work you'd have to own clothes only in white, ecru, and eggshell. Oh, and maybe beige. :)

a.meyer - it might make a nice overflow, say, if you had a really cramped closit. You could just take out some coordinating clothes and put them on display.

The clothes have to be pretty like these ones, or it wouldn't work, but in this picture, I do kind of love it.

I really love this idea, but am worried that the branch might hold bugs... overreacting? has anyone actually tried bringing in a fresh branch outdoors to indoors?

I also think this could be pretty in a sewing/craft room. One could hang folded fabrics (perhaps the same pattern but different colorways) from the branch.

jenniejenjen - I did bring in branches as curtain rods, and never noticed any bugs.
