Recently, we received the loveliest handmade card that was embellished with thread. Simple but unique, the extra bit of time that went into making the card really wowed us. So much so that we still have the invite (and we never hang onto cards after the event has passed)...
What we like best about enhancing an invite with thread is the fact that it looks labor-intensive (but it really isn't). All you need is nice card stock and a needle and thread. A sewing machine will make the job go faster but it isn't necessary that you own one. You can also buy pre-made cards and outline the design (or card) with colorful thread. The added effort will make the cards look and feel chic--and expensive.

How is it not labor intensive? I imagine that it would take quite a few minutes, too long for anything but individual greeting cards or a very small party.

Beautiful. I especially love the first design. I've been trying to figure out what kinds of holiday cards to make this year, and I think I've found my inspiration!

These would be great for just cute artwork to frame too. I like it! :D

Looks great, and labor intensive! Especially with that twist in the middle.

What a great idea. This reminds me of Paragraph Cove, which makes beautiful upcycled stationary with thread, woven paper and more.

And I agree that it would make a great wall decoration in a cute little found frame.

I can barely get evites written and sent out in an acceptabe time frame. This project is better suited for artwork to be displayed or given as as a gift vs. invites.
