We often like travel on holiday weekends and take advantage of the extra day. This year, however, we decided to just hang at home and really enjoy our space. While our intention was to just relax and chill, we ended up...

...really living in our space. A few little household chores didn't seem like a bother (laundry? sure!) and we ended up cleaning up our home and finally planting the flowers in the back. We also had a spontaneous bbq and enjoyed entertaining friends and using our space. What intended to be a lazy weekend felt substantial, fun and also very relaxing (and with all of our laundry done for the week!).
Do you ever take a lazy day or two and end up casually cleaning up and making over your home?

Absolutely, and it's like that for me almost every weekend. I enjoy my time cleaning and rearranging the space. It's soothing for me.

I tried to relax and enjoy some of the spring cleaning that I've done... but just ended up thinking things could look... just a little better! Then I kicked back for awhile with my lap-top and learned how to make the perfect Martini!

we did the same thing over the holiday weekend, got a lot done and it felt good.

Very glad to read this post. Somehow the pressure is on to do something "water-cooler" worthy every time a long weekend comes rolling around. This time we hung out at home, organized things here and there, took long walks in our lovely neighborhood, cooked a lot and simply enjoyed our home.

That's what happens most weekends when my boyfriend and I stay at home. We spend time tidying messy things, keeping the clothes washing going and doing little fun projects. We usually end the day with a yummy casserole and a dvd. I love weekends.

Lazy day at home?! Those two things don't seem to go well in the same sentence! My lazy days at home mean some sinatra (or sarah brightman) music, some vanilla insence and doing stuff all over the house. These sensory enhancements seem to turn regular house chores into a rather enjoyable experience.

I spent most of the weekend gardening and I swear there were just as many people at the garden centers and nurseries in LA as there were at the beach. Looks like everyone is gardening this spring.

I love lazy days at home... that's what we create our homes for isn't it?

I love lazy days at home too, but mine are truly lazy--no chores or projects. A book, a dog, and a comfy sofa make for my perfect weekend.
