Holding down the fort. We're in the market for a contemporary napkin holder (our, uh, crafty wooden holder with the duck motif met its end last weekend), so how about this one from Zojila?

It may not be space-efficient, but we're liking the weight-arm mechanism. Unfortunately, Zojila is all sold out, so anyone else have any suggestions to a sleek and modern napkin holder?
There is a similar IKEA version of this napkin holder but of course made from much cheaper materials. I first saw it in my aunt and uncle's kitchen and didn't automatically think IKEA. It's not bad looking, especially for $4.99.

I was going to suggest that IKEA one as well, just picked it up a few weeks ago. It looks good.

There's actually been some nice improvement on the napkinholder front. When I did my own search a few years ago, practically the only attractive choice I found was this one, for an outrageous $120:

However, design pros Oxo have now come out with a super-cute option, and an uglier version of the design above is also available at BB&B:

I ended up getting a small square appetizer plate that matches my china, stacking the napkins on it and weighing it down with a big shell I found on a Caribbean beach. It's not very contemporary or sleek-looking, but it works!
