PopMats! Recycled Paper Placemats

atla031808popmats.jpgRemember those fun pop-up books from your childhood? Take that idea, incorporate it into a 19"x13" party paper placemat made of 100% recycled paper (30% postconsumer fiber and 70% preconsumer wastepaper), and you've got PopMats...

A set of 10 PopMats in three different designs are $25 via Delight.com. We're now inspired to bust out our X-acto blades and cutting mat to make our own versions.

love it! I'm a sucker for all things crafty. At first glance I thought, "where's the pop-up in the first pic?" very cute.

I don't get these. $2.50 each (plus S/H) for a disposable placemat. Isn't the whole point of a placemat to keep spills and crumbs off of your table? Wouldn't a placemat with punch-out designs totally defeat that purpose? I usually love Delight.com, but what were they thinking with this one?

Oh too cute! Not sure how practical... But, very clever for a splurge for a dinner party, or something!

I don't get it either.
Sure, it's made from recycled paper - but it's disposable too.

We should be encouraging folks to use washable cloth or other reusable items instead.
