Trying Textured Walls

073108_texturewalls01.jpgLately we’ve been spotting textured walls everywhere – in homes, store displays, magazine layouts. This is a wonderful way to add texture to an accent wall while seemingly easier to hang then wallpaper and not as messy as paint. (Although both of those options are great for saving money and for you design commitment-phobes out there)

If you are in the market for trying something new, like textured walls, check out these pictures of spaces that have successfully incorporated this accent. You can try burlap (as mentioned by Abby on the sliding doors in the Silverlake Neutra House), grasscloth, rattan, bamboo, even wood panels.

Love them.
Just hung grass cloth-like material on a wall in my apt....it was much easier than wallpaper and looks great. It's also a way to get some really high-end material up on a single wall without breaking the budget.

I love the look of grasscloth wallpaper and have considered it for my place - Any reliable online resources for this product from the AT mavens would be much appreciated.

I had this growing up in the 70's! One caveat: cats WILL rip this to shreds.
