Dan and Amy's favorite OTHER entry:

We love Ashley's East Coast Meets Far East.  The bold color on the walls sets off the lovely natural wood colors in the furniture.  The alcove, in that deep red looks so cozy and just perfectly recedes from the main living space.  As an Angeleno, I have such a fondness for those apartments with the bright tile kitchens, and solid decorative wood trim around all of the openings.  It's great to see one that is so full of life with such careful use of color.

In you home, tell us about and show us your favorite colorful object?

This blue and green frosted glass water pitcher is may favorite colorful thing.  The colors are the basis for the blue and green throughout our apartment.  They are so similar in hue that if you squint they appear to be the same color.  The pitcher looks fantastic full of sliced lemon and water - and I love using it a a vase with orange and red flowers in it.

Holy Crap! What a great space. I love that its in Chinatown and you used a Chinese red and had those little Chinese figures as pulls. Very smart to paint the windows to keep the theme going.

The bathroom is dope!

Really great apartment!!!!

Such a great space, yet I'm disappointed in the selection of photographs. Close ups of the pot holders and kitchen shelves? There seems to be so much more you could have photographed.

Was this the same one from Dwell earlier this year? Or maybe last?

wow! This is the most beautiful red room I have ever seen! The red is the most perfect red for a wall!

This is by FAR my favorite space. The color is amazing, especially the consistent red trim on the windows. So many of the accessory combinations are beyond anything I'd ever think of, but they work so well.

We totally agree about the potholder picture.......we had some trouble sending in our photos.

The panels in the bedroom are ikea - they hang across one side of the room creating some of the very precious storage we have. There's really not much else to see in that room - it's a sleeping loft with just enought room for the bed and side tables.

i like it even better than the first set of pictures... if this home doesn't win, i am lost about the meaning of most beautiful bold use of color :) good luck.

Please, can you tell me where you got that red, round side table? I love it!

Very nice. I love the reds. Not too overpowering. I'm digging the bathroom tiles.

I think one of my friends painted the painting above your bookshelf...thought you might be curious about it, (if it is his.)

The use of those Chinese figurines as drawer pulls is just fantastic. It's these sort of things that say that a particular person lives in a space. Charming and sophisticated at the same time.

Goonie, it definitely is the same apartment Dwell featured. It's interesting to see the different perspectives Dwell and AT provide on the same pad; Dwell seems to glamorize a place so much so that it seems unattainably designed (but provides shoot-for-the-stars inspiration), whereas AT provides a more real-world look into a home, providing practical design ideas.

Sweet crib either way though!
