Why I use color:
"Use of color was, for this project, all about unifying all the parts of the nursery into one coherent design. Careful choices allowed us to match the bedding we loved with one of the few colors the chair came in with our own sense of style and hopes for our new baby."

Color Tips:
"Make sure your walls can handle all the masking and painting
(otherwise, prime), ask for advice from your "paint guy", take your time in preparation."

I like this room! It's nice and minimal but, the stripes add interest to the room. The hint of black is a nice touch!
Whoa-ho! It's proof that Pastels for Poppets don't have to be sickeningly sweet. Here's more praise for the touches of black... though truly, I'm most enchanted by that child-sized modern chair.
Why are we so brave with color in nurseries and so timid in our own rooms?
p(2) - I was thinking the same. I'm drawn to the colors in articles and ads for kids rooms and catch myself thinking, "I would've loved that when I was a kid" - but why put those limits on myself? Maybe it's connected to so many adults forgetting how to play?
There should be a special category for nurseries. This one is lovely: a perfect little girl's room. Of course, putting Anna in the bedroom is just too cute. That is one beautiful baby.
This a room for an exceptional baby. Her parents told her that from the first time they took her in the room.
cute baby in photo + really great stripes on the wall= red ribbon for sure.
Fabulicious. SO much better than pink and blue. That is one great chair, in one great room. Outlining the colored stripes in white - that is committment to a vision. And I complained about painting my ceiling.
I loved this room the moment I stepped into it. It is very calming!
What an adorable room for an adorable little girl. The stripes are crisp and the colors are soft, nice contrast.
Lovely room. Where did you get that great chair that she is sitting in. I have been looking for a chair for my boys and would love to get one like that.

That's swell!
What is it with the West Coast entries and wonderful nurseries? I don't think I have much to add to other comments -- imaginative style and color combination that is unexpected in a nursery. I love the circular mirrors against the stripes.
Purrrfect!!!
This is such a beautiful nursery (and baby too!). It has inspired my husband and me to paint stripes in our baby son's nursery. Thanks for the great idea!
