Flickr Find: Using Black In The Entryway

102408banda-03.jpgWe love this before and after for a couple of reasons. First of all, it shows us how great black looks if you use it as an accent wall to highlight a zone. In this case, it's the entryway zone. We often stress over picking out colors (usually because they're bold colors). Notyourgoddess shows us how great an extremely bold color like black, looks in a space. More views after the jump.

102408banda-01.jpgThe shoes are set up like a page out of Pottery Barn with a surprising backdrop that works great in this entryway scene. Plus, the black color on the heater and the wall make the heater almost disappear.

102408banda-02.jpgWe love the extended shelf with places to hang coats as you come indoors. Notyourgoddess has made a statement with her coats--they almost look like coats hanging in a store--love it!

102408banda-04.jpgThis entryway is functional, organized and quite interesting to look at--a great before and after.

My entryway is black - I love it. It's not a proper entry, just one long wall that's not far enough depth from the door to place a console table, so I hung a large, modern, white square mirror, got a groovy umbrella stand and a key hook and it works!
