apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Flickr Finds: Antonio and Benjamin's Very Small Apartment

112608_ffliving.jpgWhen we found Antonio's flickr set labeled, "My Small Apartment...I Like," we had to check it out. This tiny apartment in Madrid which he shares with his partner Benjamin and their cat, is full of ideas...especially for those of us with a lot of quirky collections and not lot of space. Check out some of our favorite photos after the jump...

We like the personality of the profile silhouettes on this otherwise traditional entryway door.

Perched along the top of the divider wall that separates the entryway from the bedroom area is their collection of Pez dispensers, along with a cat toy.

The kitchen pairs a quirky but masculine graphic pattern with a soft grey along the walls.

Given the limited amount of cupboard space, metal rods from Ikea are mounted to the wall. Not only does it allow for easy access to their collection of coffee mugs, but it's also a nice alternative to hanging dishes as wall decor.

Mismatched chairs gives the dining area a casual look and feel.

View of the living and dining areas from the kitchen. Ikea's Expedit bookcase is packed with books and keepsakes. With space being a rarity, treasured items are displayed on top of the bookcase. The art collection hangs on their pumpkin-hued wall in interesting formations with enough space in between to avoid looking cluttered.

Floor to ceiling drapes gives this small apartment the illusion of height, and the white lets the maximum amount of light in, visually opening up the living area. By adding an airy metal butterfly chair with the heavier furniture (like the boxy sofa and coffee table), it also gives the space added interest.

A peek into the bedroom area from the living room.

View of the other side of the living area. The TV is perched on top of the multi-functional credenza.

Great apartment full of space-saving ideas.

as a side note... check your grammar:

"Mismatched chairs gives..." - should be "give"
"Floor to ceiling drapes gives..." - ditto

The ratio of style to square inch here is amazing.

Love what they've done with their space, especially the coffee mugs along the wall and the dining table/chairs.

hippyvieja-- I was thinking the same thing. But all my open storage has come to an end since adopting cats.

This space is so cute, but I wonder if it wouldn't feel a little crowded.
