So here's a crafty idea for those of you skilled in the art of stencil: turn your wall radiator into artwork with this neat trick featured on Kay's Inspirational Flickr set from Olga's House Tour. Excuse me! But that is my radiator, featured here on AT TWICE.

Please do your research (at least vet it w the home office) before posting.

Ok, now perhaps this doesn't merit the anger I am feeling right now, but you are, additionally, spreading misinformation.

If you check the original post on this:

http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/ny/house-tours/ny-house-tour-olgas-diy-like-youve-never-seen-diy-011333

http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/ny/closeup/closeup-taking-the-radiator-from-0-to-60-021373

you will notice that I have provided quite lengthy explications of how I did what I did and what type of paint I used and NO! heat-resistant paint is not necessary for the project pictured, because it is a radiator COVER and not the radiator itself. Heat-resistant paint is oil paint and is unnecessary, just paint it outside of the heat season.

Yeesh.

I guess I'm not done: it doesn't bode well when the very people featured on this blog are pissed off by the lack of standards EMERGING on the blog.

Where is the due diligence?

Hey isn't that radiator from a house tour a while back?

Oh, I see it is indeed from Olga's house tour. I remember that one, amazing Venetian plaster she did herself!! Give the woman the credit due!! Fix the post!!

i was gonna say that's olga's bedroom, but olga said it already.

(i find it strange - on flickr - when people add photos from other people's photostreams to their own photostreams. if it's a photo the person took it seems more ethical to simply fave it for your own reference.)

hi there - yes this photo was found in my INSPIRATION file on flick and it was not my intention to pass it off as my own and i didn't try to. i think i may have even commented on it when it was originally posted on AT. i label most of the pics in my inspiration file the same way - with a brief description and usually post either where i saw the image or give credit on my blog - if neither was there i probably forgot where i found the image as i have tons and tons of inspiration photos. no need for hostility. the title of this post can and should be chanegd to olga's radiator stencil.

oh my. i'm sure everyone had good intentions, maybe not the best due diligence. in the scope of things, not something to lose a head or take a head over.

Thanks, Grace. Everyone should stencil their radiator covers!

One may argue that although Olga's apartment may not need additional therapy, sadly its owner could do well with some from the looks of her overly dramatic avalanche of complaints here. Someone would think this blog had accidentally miscredited her for the collapse of the stock market or something instead of a minor gaffe over a decorated radiator. I believe a prescription for a chill pill might be called for.

Could this not be done with a long piece of fabric?
It's not touching the radiator at all.

Wow. People really shouldn't type anything when they're angry.
