AT reader, Megan, shared with us her DIY headboard for her guestroom. She also used 2 closet doors, similar to the idea we posted earlier. She stained them with Minwax "ebony." Show off your DIY projects with the rest of us! Email us your pics or tag your flickr photos with "apartmenttherapyla" and it could make the main page!

Those little built in nighstands on the headboard are so cool. Love the colors, too.

Anyone have ideas on where to get closet doors if you don't want to trek out to IKEA? Actual interior doors (from hardware store, say) are too big for me.

these doors are from learned lumber in hermosa beach. they're solid (i have found the hollow ones are too fragile) there are so many beautiful woods out there that when stained, highlight the grain. anderson lumber in mar vista/culver city area is another great resource. these places will cut them down for you as well. if you are using a solid door, the cut shouldn't be a problem.
i have since used them in a boutique retail store as a display, design element (hammitt bags in manhattan beach) there's so much you can do with them!
