Here's an interesting way to divide a room, DIY style: Hang a curtain rod from the ceiling, and clip sheets of pretty (handmade?) paper to it. We like the variations of paper pictured here: the color, size, and texture seem to compliment the other elements in the living room.

Wow, very simple, and quite pretty! I imagine it would be easy to change out the paper from time to time, too.

this reminds me of Duchamp's detail in his Large Glass - the three squares in the brides halo.

I really like this idea, and you can find some incredible craft paper at your local art store for fairly inexpensive. I'd just suggest keeping the paper out of sunlight, as it tends to fade pretty easily.

what strikes me is that stool - it's the gorgeous, bright red one from Target's last Global Bazaar. Nice job refinishing!

this would look cooler if it were three frames, the same size as the darker paper, with large matting and artwork.
they could even hang 6 back to back so you had something on both sides. or mabe decorative textile banners
personally I think the look shown here feels like laundry hanging on the line. it just doesn't seem interesting at all.
