Flickr Finds: RunTime's Glass Drawers in the Kitchen

051508_flickrfinds.jpgWe don't know about you, but we would love to find something like this to put in our kitchen! These glass drawers were in an old apartment in Stockholm, and we're already imagining how handy it must be to clear off some counter space without sacrificing organization or easy access. Does anyone know where to find a similar solution?

Backlighting that would probably look very cool.

I was going to post this link - in case people don't notice, the default shows wood boxes, but this shelf can also be purchased with glass containers very much like the ones up above.

I've always loved the way these look, and have been tempted by the IKEA version, but it seems like it's not really airtight enough for any dry goods storage. Maybe for small wrapped items, or other accessories. Anybody using these have an opinion on usage in the kitchen?

bepsf posted the correct link but you'll have to select 'birch/glass' under 'color' to show the glass version.

These containers are really common in the Czech Republic. They're at junk shops everywhere. The Czechs put things like sugar in them (ants don't seem to make it into the houses here).

The picture above looks like the unit was custom built around the vintage containers.

If anyone is DYING to get some of the glass drawers, the vintage kind, I could look around here for you but keep in mind that the shipping would probably be pretty expensive. (The dollar is weeping somewhere after getting beat up by the Czech crown.)

Leave a message here if you are interested, along with some way to contact you and I'll check back. I really wish that AT had a way to message between members... :-(
