Jonathan's post last week on The Palihouse Holloway Hotel's corkboard got us thinking about decoupage. A decorative art form made with collected images, it's simple; if you can cut and paste, you can decoupage. We're definitely tempted to try it after finding these beautiful pieces of furniture on Swampdragon's Flickr page.
Flickr Finds: Transform Your Furniture with Decoupage
The biggest challenge is finding and arranging the images. But, if you're anything like us, you've got a boxful of images that otherwise might find their way into the trash. Simply decide on your arrangement, spread on white glue, apply your images, smooth them out and apply thinned white glue or decoupage medium. Let this dry completely, then apply another coat of decoupage medium or another sealer (polyurethane, acrylic spray) until your surface is smooth. With any luck, your results will be as stunning as these examples.
