10809-ernie.jpgWhat do the casts of Grey's Anatomy and CSI know that you don't? They're some of the people who've already discovered Ernest Gregory Designs on Beverly Boulevard. The store's lacquered turquoise door beckons you to enter and discover the treasures within...

11009-ernie02.jpgTucked into the LaBrea end of Beverly Boulevard's design row, next to the New Beverly Cinema, the store, a collaboration between Ernie Zayat and Greg Coccaro, specializes in vintage furniture that's been tweaked -- reupholstered, painted, gilded, bronzed, stripped or lacquered -- to give it a rock and roll edge. Find a piece in the store that still bears its original finish? Ernie and Greg will have it refinished for you. Whether your dream is a pair of night tables glossed to a brilliant turquoise or a walnut credenza, stripped of its paint to reveal the beauty of the wood, here's the place you can make it a reality.

My Hollywood Regency bulb went out almost a year ago. Albeit well done, what would have once drawn me into this store no longer has any allure.

There are so many unique finds in this store. You can tell each piece featured had a lot of thought behind it. Excellent taste
