02-15-felt-rug-.jpgYes, the Illu Stration Felt Shop is far, far away in the land of Germany, but these new felt products designed by Mary Ann Williams are so cool, we had to show them.

We are in love with this "Flokati- felt" rug, and think it is such a cool, modern take on the shag/Flokati ideas. Oh, and it comes in up to 1000 colors. The prices on the site are in Euros, but the rugs look to be around $3000.

02-15-felt-bed-.jpgThe day bed is all felt. No foam filling, just the twirls of soft felt creating what looks to us like a cloud to rest on.

There are also some great felt accessories like this log holder (below fold) and this very cool felt lamp.

i think it's nani marquina (www.nanimarquina.com) who first came up with the rose petal rug.

Illu Stration is the inventor of flokati felt carpets. They received several Awards for their Flokati Felt rugs like FORM 1999, iF Design Award GOLD 2004, IF Material Award 2005 and GOOD Design 2005. Their rugs are called after pasta shapes. The carpet you mean is called Cappelletti and not roses. By the way I saw Cappelletti at the furniture fair in Cologne in Jan. 2005. So I think Nani coppied Cappelletti and called it roses. There is a big difference in quality between those 2 rugs. It is Made in Germany. Think before you comment!
