Fall is the best time to plant in Southern California. October is the prime month but you can start scouting for plants now along with getting the garden ready for planting. Here are 5 things you can do this month to help your garden right now:
Plant Ranunculus. They're bulbs now, but plant some of these guys now and see them flower in the spring. Find out how to plant bulbs.
Mulch. Fall, although much more mild can be really dry. Protect your soil from total dry out by adding some new mulch to your plants.
Plant Salvia. Or really any native of Southern California (check out Theodore Paine or
