Haha...we'll admit half the reason we decided to post this was the amusing illustration accompanying the description. The other reason was because we're looking for ways to deter our neighbor's cat from using our future herb garden as her own personal litter box (we've already found a few "presents" while we've been cleaning the yard). Cats and other animals like soft, accessible areas to do their business, and these flexible plastic spikes just make it just uncomfortable enough to discourage them from fertilizing your garden with the wrong kind of additions. I'm preparing an area for a small vegetable/herb/flower garden and was wondering what I could do to keep out the neighborhood cats. A bigger problem for me (I think) is going to be keeping our male lab from lifting his leg on the fencing I'm putting up and getting whatever I plant along the perimeter. Anyone have any ideas on that? (My husband had the dogs when we got married - I'd always lived in apartments that didn't allow them, so dog ownership is new to me.)
