Growing Garden Wall in Metropolitan Home

062408_wall.jpgBrowsing through Metropolitan Home we snapped this picture of one of the most beautifully planted living walls we've seen so far. Well, let us rephrase. It was the most beautiful living wall we've seen that we think we could actually accomplish.

062408_wallcu.jpgThis living wall in a garden in LA is a great way to cover up a nondescript wall and give a focal point outside of a window. We blogged a boxier version of these a while ago, but we love that there's no frame on these, the plants seem to just grow out of the wall. We saw a mounted planted that looked simple to assemble and borderless in a catalog recently but cannot remember where. Anyone seen these around? Anyone attempted something like this at home?

I haven't attempted one, but I've seen them in the Gardener's Supply catalog - here they are online...http://www.gardeners.com/Living%20Wall%20Outdoor%20Planter/NewOutdoorPlanters_Cat,37-001RS,default,cp.html

I saw a great living wall the other day. In the outdoor foodcourt of the Target center at Santa Monica and La Brea. I think it was above the Jamba Juice. Look almost identical to this one but covers a massive area.
