Keep Herbs Fresh: Sagaform's Trio Herb Pot

121907_herbs.jpg

Oddly one of our biggest indulgences in the winter is continuing to buy fresh herbs. It might not seem like much, but they make such a difference in a dish and when we shell out for them we run the risk of forgetting to use them, or just not using them up fast enough to outrun the limp brown mush they seem to turn into so quickly.

Yes, we know we can stick the stalk of herbs into a glass of water, but this trio herb pot from Sagaform is so deliciously simple and easy to maintain we're having trouble saying no to it. It's made specifically for pre-cut herbs, leaving enough space for air to flow properly and enough shallow water in the bottom to keep them hydrated. Plus it's got room for 3 different kinds of herbs. So that mean basil for the caprese, thyme for the roast chicken or salad dressing and mint for..well anything really.

It doesn't hurt that it's so pretty we could leave it out where we'd be reminded to actually use them! And if we don't have any herbs then three bunches of flowers would fill it up nicely as well. We can't wait for sweet peas to be in season again.

Available through A+R.

mh330: cause for some of us, herbs just won't grow! i don't usually have a black thumb, but i can't get cilantro to stay alive for me if my life depended on it!
