Look! Chinatown Urban Gardens

073108atla-chinatown01.jpgOur Green @ Home garden project has been at a standstill for awhile after an initial attempt to introduce some lavender. Unfortunately the summer sun basically Quizno'ed the all but two of the six plants even with sufficient watering. So we're holding off until the weather cools off before spending any more money. But we're definitely inspired by this example of urban gardening found in Chinatown by the team over at CurbedLA....

073108atla-chinatown03.jpgWe're going to have to take a look at these miniature gardens on Figueroa next time we're visiting our friend who lives in the heart of Chinatown and see if we recognize any of the uncommon produce being grown from our last visit to the Alhambra Farmer's Market.
