Reac Japan Design Interior Collection

reina_chairs.jpg
This weekend I was over at the nearby Giant Robot Silver Lake, scoping out the wares for a unique gift or two for a birthday shindig later that evening. Which of course meant I ended up with gifts for myself in the process...only because I care. And I have no self restraint, especially when presented with the series of 1:12 size reproductions from the Reac Japan Design Interior Collection.

These collectibles have been mentioned previously, but now you can nab some of the blind box assortment of chairs (meaning, you do not know which chair you've chosen until you've opened the box, adding to the fun and frustration of collecting) locally from Giant Robot for $9, making the satisfaction a bit more immediate.

I purchased two for Emily and myself, and now want to order the whole collection. But good luck trying to get your hands on the 3rd series shown above...seems that the final series is an eBay or online retailer sort of item at the moment.

And for my friend? He ended up receiving an almost indescribable japanese DVD (which I highly recommended for design/interior inspiration) alongside a very, very unusual blind box collection of a much different sort....

You two give good gift!

The chair collection is awesome. And I like the nice price.

(I'm still waiting for a lower-priced Chinese or Thai release of Survive Style 5+. The prices on the UK and Japanese releases are still a bit too steep for me...)
