I would love to buy these for my aunt -- she has these beautiful wood stairs, but they're a bit slippery in socks, and I think these would do the trick without covering up all the wood.

I don't even know where to begin. Everything in my house is old, ugly and CHEAP. I cannot stand it one day longer. I have been looking at rugs as a great way to spruce up a room without having to redo everything in the room. These cute little rugs would be perfect.

did anybody think how unsafe it is? even with the rubber backing (which i checked, there is no indication of it) they can slid off the stair while you walking down and you will tumble down along all those pretty things. the carpet, runner or anything not properly attached to the stairs is a potential health hazard. injury just a step away.

We are finishing the attic to be a boat-cabin-like kiddie library/ relaxation place/ photo studio. The stairs to the attic are a total mess. Right now one can only go there on all 4s. It would be really nice to dress the steps up until we find it in ourselves to take them down and re-build them.

We just moved into a new place. While my pup can climb the stairs, he's crashed a few times on the way down. This would make his life so much easier, and ours more colorful.

My stairs are bright purple. Normally I am all for bright colors, but I find the Barney-purple color rather ugly. I have had problems with painting stairs in the past, where the paint wears out quickly. Any suggestions for painting stairs?

Our stairs are so gloomy and are such a wasteland. The carpet we stapled in ourselves has been stained by so many roomates and their animals. Recycling is kept on the landing andbags and bags of lentils. I only go down these horrible stairs when I need to do laundry. D:

Moved last Nov. into a pretty cool house, unfortunately the lady before us spend a lot of money on a railing and banister that don't match the architecture of the house at all. I will be ripping it out this summer and going oak on the stairs, these would help my 3 and 6 year old not to be slipping and sliding.

At some point in the past, owners of our house cut of the bull nose on the side of the steps. We're doing our best to reclaim what's left of the original wood stairs.

my stairs are have decades' worth of layers of paint. i have felt too overwhelmed by the process of stripping the wood (b/c of fumes mainly) and i didn't want to just re-paint and add one more layer to the mix... these would be perfect!

I work in my dungeon ( I mean basement). And as lucky as I am to work from home, my walk down into the dungeon ( I mean basement) could be a lot cheerier with with Lava ALTO Steps! Orange is my favorite color. I even painted my cold cement basement floor bright orange!

Our stairs are solid oak and beautiful, but our aging dog keeps slipping on them and we're afraid she'll get hurt. Add to that a baby on the way, and we need some stairtherapy. Most stair pads are so ugly -- these are great!

We have stairs that the ceiling is very low in and at the bottom of the landing there's a small odd shaped wall. Can never figure out how to decorate nicely.

I have stairs where I took of the carpet and painted the stairfronts with a beautiful black&white checker pattern with a quote going up the stairs...."The love of a family is life's greatest blessing" my problem is the tops are now slippery..we have a no sock rule right now

Our 1883 Eastlake Victorian had the original woodwork with all the spindles, the original stained glass at the second landing and..........wait for it, it's worth it.........................
a plywood closet nailed into the sides so they could hang their coats.

Classy!

OK so I cleaned the stairs and re-freshed them (Bona - great product by the way), all by hand. Then I told everyone NO SHOES in the house anymore. First time around, my husband "slipped" down the stairs. I told him next time wear slippers. Needless to say, He wasn't amused. These would be handy cause I was wearing socks and almost slipped.

Our stairway has a half-circle landing part way up, where my dog loves to be because he can see the front door, great room, into my office, and up the stairs (because of the railing and slats, we say he's "in jail"). This area gets dirty and furry very quickly. It's also a challenge sometimes to step over him with any grace.

My stairway decor challenge is having a sitting room 3 steps down from the master bedroom, which will be wood floored, and having a disabled cat who would likely become more so if I do not figure out a way to provide traction on the steps, as well as a tactile notice that stairs are present.... in an aesthetically pleasing way!!!!

I really could use a set of these for my stairs, for my two year old dog. My bed sits about 5 feet off the floor. She always jumps up on my bed. She has already hurt her front shoulder from jumping off our deck. The steps I got in the pet store, don't work well at all. These might cut down on her slipping off the steps. "Wow!" These are the answer to my prayers! Our stairway is to the side of our front door entry way. The carpet on the steps has become quite dingy from the foot traffic of all three bedrooms being on the second level. We have tried steam cleaning with no results. we have hardwood stairs, but they are rather worn towart the center of each stair and I love to cover it, but part of the problem is that the stair curves part of the way up. I have also taken a tumble down the stairs because of wearing socks on slippery wood. These carpet blocks are great and would kill two birds with one stone.

My biggest stair design challenge is keeping the carpets that line the stairs clean. With two kids and a light carpet, dirt and stains are a huge problem.

I wish I would have found these treads when I was looking a few months ago. I ended up with braided ones that I hate! They are so old fashioned looking. I would love to win so I could replace the ones I have. But at least I know that there are stylish treads available because this is what I was looking for originally. Why didn't I find them then? Oh well, live and learn.

ah.... is this my fairy godmother?
we moved in a year ago and have depleted funds. We left the stairs for last, they have been refinished, the banister stained and finished and now....the steps which are in main entry ( first thing you see) look forlorn and incomplete. HELP.
oh, and hubby is going to fall and crack his fool neck if we don't do something.

We have cathedral ceilings so the wall against the stairs is very high! It is hard to decorate with wall area around the stairs.

The back stairs of our apartment are gross painted wood and the landlord isn't too keen on redoing/finishing them. These would be a beautiful way to hide them...

Very pretty. The staircase you see when you enter my home is the ugliest part of the house. The banister is missing, the stairs are painted white and impossible to keep clean.

My house was previously owned by an elderly couple who put down rubber strips so that they would not slip....many hours were spent trying to get them up and not ruin the hardwoods....it didn't work:-(

We have a loft with a weird, enclosed staircase with half the stairs going one way, a landing, and then the other half of the stairs going the other way. I want to put stuff on the walls because it's so plain, but I feel like nothing really looks right.

Our stairway is small, there isn't much I can do with it. but the best thing I have done so far is when I painted the wall I painted the ceiling too. I can't stand a white ceiling.

There a couple of problems to my stairway decor challenge. One, the previous owners carpeted over the hardwood, so the wood is going to need refinished :( Two, the stairs are very steep- something like these step rugs will be absolutely necessary for safety. The stairs to our lower level are the only flooring surface that has not been redone in the last 5 years. The carpet that is there now was put down when we moved in 17 years ago. Now with 2 cats and 2 dogs you can imagine it's condition!! Somehow this area just seem to get forgotten, except when you have to walk up or down it. It really needs some freshening up and this product looks like it could do the trick.
