Romantic Bedroom Week: IPreferAngie's State of Bliss

Welcome to our Romantic Bedroom Giveaway - all info here

Name: IPreferAngie

Location: Los Angeles, CA

IPreferAngie's grandfather bestowed her a very special family heirloom that now graces her bedroom: "When I was younger I wondered why my grandfather would have a series of paintings of women in the nude. Then I grew older and I realized and thought it was kind of amusing. When he died I decided to keep this one in memory of him." Her bedroom tip is after the jump...

Romantic Bedroom Tip: "I read somewhere that you should have something over your bed that inspires you or something you desire. The expression on her face says it all...to be in a state of total bliss."

Thanks IPreferAngie for sharing and we surely can't disagree.

I love it. My grandfather used to keep a pin-up/nudie calendar from the 50's in his garage. It always made me feel a little weird, but now, I wish I had one of those calendars.

CORRECTION: to be in a state of total bliss.

I wanted correct that before swerve attacks.

I think the painting was meant to be vertical; it would be great on the inside of the closet door.

Sentiment aside, this is a BAD painting.

Hmm, the shadows seem to imply a horizontal layout. But I could see how it could work vertically too. (sorry about previous incorrect log-in name)

I think the painting should be vertical too. That position of the lady in the painting looks incredibly awkward/impossible.

Also, I realize it's a painting, but in that position her bosoms wouldn't be so...um...upward. And maybe the shadows are supposed to be from her head being tilted backward...?

Otherwise, I think it's kind of cute!

If you think this painting is bad you should see others in the series, I had to give them away because they were just too tacky. Yes, it is meant to be vertical but the painter signed it on the horizontal...and my grandfather preferred to hang it that way.

My grandfather also has nude paintings! Thankfully he is still with us, but when he no longer is I hope to get one of them. They're kitschy, but in the best way and I would be proud to hang one.

She looks like she's in agony. Cool that it was your grampa's though.

Nothing like wishing I could afford a Mel Ramos painting - would blow this one away! I'm dying to find a Mel Ramos at a garage sale for nothing. it would be like winning the lottery to me. I've always wanted to hang something naughty up in my bedroom!

You have got to change the position of the painting. It has to be vertical. Her legs are all wrong.
