I saw these months ago - They'd be fun hung in a group on a wall.

Yhese are fantastic, but they were definetly posted on AT in February. With all of the post daily on AT I'm curious about items like this that are reposted. Although I heart AT very much, I think there are too many posts each day. I prefered the days when I could devour all of the posts each day. Now I feel like I can only skim the surface, trying to avoid the filler posts, such as this one...

You're right - this is the second duplicate post of the day - these were posted by NYC earlier.

Again, it would be nice if the AT bloggers from the various cities coordinated their posts to avoid duplication.

Is it really that big a deal? If you see something that looks like something you've already read, then don't read it. I don't think it happens enough to make AT lowered in credibility or seem repetitive, and usually if there is a duplicate post it shows different photos! If I was interested enough to read a post a second time, at least I'm seeing a different take on things.

For those who may have missed posts or for new ATers these are re=posts are new for them. I wasn't a member in Feb and having seen these great plates now, I have found a housewarming gift to give to my buddy who just passed his architecture licensing exam and moved into a new apt.

I got these plates at my son's school auction this spring. Love them, they look great and perfect appetizer/snack trays.

It's good to see things one hasn't seen before. But the things that ARE on this site in the archives, can be browsed by anyone, old or new. Unfortunately the lack of consistency of appropriate tags will keep people from finding these things. So that searching doesn't always bring the results. Even for the people who write FOR AT.

But maybe they should be paying attention to what everyone else is posting for their own site.

Then there's the stuff that is posted on AT that is found on another design blog. If one reads more than one blog, it becomes apparent that it's swap stories between sites.

I find that equally annoying, because someone is doing all the work to find these things originally and the rest just ride the coat-tails of simply visiting the other people's blogs.

I realize that "breaking news" is breaking news for everyone, and an outstanding new product or idea will probably be on everyone's page.

But if there is going to be blogging going on, I would have assumed that the people doing it would be actually paying attention to what the rest of the people were doing.

If I was paying people to work on my house, and one person cleaned the bathroom, and 15 minutes later another person goes in to clean the cleaned bathroom, I would be annoyed.

It's already been done. Don't do it again unless it really needs it.

As it is, I get annoyed with the "what was hot this last week" posts. Which is a post about posts.

I'd say there are a lot of duplicates, and I don't mean from months ago. I feel like a blogger in one city is posting a find from reading one of the the other cities as if it's another blog we might not have noticed, although it comes off as having no awareness whatsoever of AT in entirety except for their own input. As someone (and I'd guess most are!!) who reads the Main link with all cities consolidated, it becomes super-repetitive. I guess we're supposed to ignore cities that aren't in our zone. I blame the interface, the segregated links, the dozens of bloggers posting each day, "the jump," and things that make it harder to find something you wanted to read later, like some sort of quota, it seems.

I hadn't seen these plates before, they are clever enough, but I have seen things that seem brand-new to bloggers that I had seen somewhere else months ago, or the times when they seem easily impressed. It's easy to miss some things sometimes, but not to the point where we need 25 threads in the past two weeks about the color blue in Carrie's apartment, or this week's thing made of lightbulb that isn't a meth pipe.

On the other hand, the Hot this week... is made for people who don't have time to find these threads the first time. If they comment in anything linked, good luck getting any follow-ups that late, and maybe the wheel will land on an assortment of buried articles you find interesting and haven't seen before.

but AT is free and bloggerific and i say we just enjoy it.

i've been reading AT for.ever.now, and hadn't seen these plates, and now i love them and want to go buy some.

duplicating posts (or reposting interesting older posts) is totally fine by me as it's not like they're stabbing me with a knife two times. and infrequent uncoordinated double-postings between state sites is also acceptable considering it's just not that big of a deal!

Now I would love to have those.

I like the plates.

I've been coming to this website for almost four years now and this is the first time I've seen these plates.
