While my loathing for Adler's retreads of the olde-tyme ice-cream-parlor version of the 1970s is unbounded, as is my dislike of the 1990s trend of blazoning rocks and coffee mugs with "joy," "hope," and "serenity" in the search for same...
...damn, he almost got me by slipping "hate" and "anger" in as options. Casually displaying a "hate" urn amidst a collection of shiny white tchotchkes to see if anyone notices is exactly what I would have done at age 26 or so.
