Our visit to the Kara Walker Show, which we blogged earlier today, got us thinking about silhouettes. It's an art form we've always loved. Simply Silhouettes helps us bring it into our home in new ways.
Our visit to the Kara Walker Show, which we blogged earlier today, got us thinking about silhouettes. It's an art form we've always loved. Simply Silhouettes helps us bring it into our home in new ways.

Plates (we'd love them for a wedding on the beach),

notecards or moving announcements (silhouette your new home),

and mugs are just some of the items available customized with the silhouette of your choice. Click here to go to Simply Silhouettes.
I love silhouettes (have one of my dog in the bedroom), but given the troubling subtext Kara Walker's work finds in 19th c. silhouettes, it's hard to look at them in the same way again (i.e., as innocent decoration). Whenever I see Walker's work I always think I should take my silhouettes down!

I love silhouettes! My first one was at DisneyWorld in the 80s and latest at Disneyland last year. :)

I just took my cousin to Disneland and we got silhouettes on main street. I look like I have a mullet. It is awesome.
