Since we try to follow the AT credo and buy ourselves fresh flowers every week, we're always on the lookout for new vases to put them in. We fell in love with this one when we saw it at our friend's house.
Although we'd never heard of the potter, we quickly became a fan. We'd love its art nouveau styling on a modern wood nightstand as a vase or to hold our glasses or our watch; it'd also make a wonderful catch-all for change on our landing strip and, of course, its seashell shape is a natural in the bathroom for holding small soaps, q-tips or cotton pads. Van Briggle is still made today and although this style is not currently being produced, we were able to find ours on eBay.

Van Briggle, still produced in Colorado Springs, Colorado, is a better quality than McCoy, which wasn't an art pottery. Sad to say, most of the ebay offerings are fakes.
