Wallpaper Design Award: Best Glassware

03-03-starke-glasses.jpg
Calling them "Easily the most radiant crystal collection of the year" Wallpaper sited Philippe Starck's "Darkside" Glassware for Baccarat as "just what you'd expect from the contentious designer" and gave the it the Best glassware award for 2006.

"The 'Un Parfait' set (around $1000) features one perfect black crystal goblet and five others, each with a subtle flaw and engraved with the word 'imparfait' and a first-aid cross. Some might say this is just Starck being provocative, but we warmed to the humorous questioning of what is unique and what is faulty"

I read an article a few years back saying that if people are served wine in a black wine glass, many (most?) of them cannot tell by taste if the wine is red or white. http://www.newyorker.com/fact/content/?020819fa_fact

Fascinatingly bizarre article there...

Was it Emily Post who declared that one must never, NEVER serve wine in colored glasses?
