Q: I’ve started shopping for furniture. Don’t you love these tables? They happen to be from a UK designer but I would love to find something similar here. I am thinking of a round or an oval table for the dining area. Any suggestions you or the readers may have would be appreciated.

Editor - Wes, here are four cross or bent legged tables that may fall closely enough in style (and/or budget) for your dining room needs:

Before buying, try sitting at the table first. Seriously.
Many of the styles look great. But there's no place to put your legs. Or the chair legs.
Chairs do not scoot under the table completely.
Notice in the CB2 and the Room and Board images, sitting at the tables requires leg-spreading if you want to scoot in around the table's legs.
This means no crossing of the legs while sitting at the table, many shin bangings, possibly falling over the table leg when trying to get out, and a less-than-comfortable (and possibly revealing) arrangement for people in skirts or dresses.
I used to have a round table. I don't anymore. LOL!
Anyway, this is pretty close to the table you like, for $329.00:

The new strut table from crate and barrel is a good alternative

Sooner or later, everything (or something close) pops up on Craigslist. My husband jokes that I will furnish my entire house this way; I admit to being a Craigslist addict. He may laugh at me but I have scored some major finds. Happy hunting for your table and remember, sometimes it's about the journey.
