Good Question: Refurbish a Down Comforter?
Los Angeles

090808_down.jpg I'm looking to re-furbish my down comforter and pillows. Is there anyone in the LA area that does this? Thanks

Hi Umi--

We haven't needed to restuf our down quilt yet and doing a quick search, the only reputable company we could fnd was The Down Store who will clean and fill your old down comforter for around $125 for a queen. But they're in New York.

Locally we found Michelle's Feather and Down that specialize in down cushions for furniture but they also list pillows and duvets, so they would be worth contacting to see if they'll refurbish as well.

Has anyone had this done in LA?

Both Feathered Friends and All About Down in Seattle will restore down comforters. Call for pricing.

Not local to LA, but I believe The Company Store (catalog) refurbishes down comforters and pillows. Check their catalog or website for details/pricing. (I've bought down pillows from them before and they've held up well, never had anything refurbisthed by them.)

Hi Everyone,

Interesting post...

Our company, Cozy Down, manufactures high end down comforters here in Los Angeles. We also wash and refurbish your current comforters with equipment we imported from Germany specifically designed for down comforters.

I'd be happy to give you more details. Feel free to email me at lkang@cozydown.com.

On a related note, does anyone know of a good source for 100% down-filled pillows in the LA area? There are reasonable sources on line and out of state, but I'd rather buy locally. Thanks!
