Hello AT, I've been trying to find a solution to a seating puzzle. I want to use a sectional also as dining seating. I found these at homereserve.com. (As a bonus, the seating has storage!) Of course, the table will be another issue. So the questions: 1. Has anyone bought these? What are they like? 2. Has anyone seen something along these lines that could compete?

that's so funny I've been thinking about the same thing. I want my little dining area to be a place to kick back and really relax vs. just sitting there to eat a meal and leave.
I've been pondering having a custom booth setup [in orange or something super funky] or possibly an west elm sectional piece.
anyone else do this?
HI
I was very lucky to find a damaged sectional in the ikea close out area for $100. It was the fagelbo - It has worked our really well in our kitchen. It it is intended to convert to bed so it is firmer and has single seat cusions which lends itself to dining and no caught crumbs.
Mine had the panels covering front bottom missing and by replacing these with dark wood it became kinda modern and then used other pillows. Also has some storage. we have been pretty happy and comfortable. Keep in mind a round table will make it easier to get in and out.
Ballard Designs has kitchen seating sectional furniture that you select the fabric for.
I realize now I wasn't as clear as I could have been. I intend the seats to be moved for dining use, like regular dining chairs. Thus, the fagelbo, while nice, won't work. Each seat will be separate. I will also use the seats in other ways, as stand-alones during parties, to create different configurations so one room can be used in multiple ways.
If you want to move them around just use armless upholstered parsons chairs.
