Hi,
I was at the Beverly Center Calvin Klein store and I spotted these webbed blocks used as display tables. They are quite sturdy, feels like coated metal, or carbon fiber, not plastic. Does anyone know where I can find this, or something similar?
Thanks, Minty

Most pieces in stores like this are custom-made by fabricators who specialize in store fixtures - the fabricators are often under contract to not reproduce the items for anyone else (it's a branding thing) so it's not likely you're going to find these for sale someplace until Calvin moves along to the next "look".

Have you contacted Calvin Klein?

I saw this (if not something very similar) on the Z Gallerie website the other day -- think it might even be on SALE. Good luck!

You could commission a LA based artist named Aaron Kramer- whose sculptures have a similar feel.
His work can be seen on flickr @ http://www.flickr.com/photos/aaronkramer/sets/72157594252614939/

Looks like the Carbon chair: http://www.klausn.com/diningcarbonchair.htm but I can't find a table/bench like that...

I like those a lot. I might have to drop by the Beverly Center just to check them out. You might be able to find something similar made of a dark rattan material, of course it won't be as sturdy, but you'll get the same look.

Actually, One of my studio critics from architecture school is the owner of the firm that designed the new Calvin Klein stores, and yes those stools were custom made for those stores. I do work for him occasionally and can ask him what it would take to get one made...I do know that it is all made of wound carbon fiber, which is going to cost a pretty penny.
