Good Questions: Apartment and Sofa Sources?

1125OHDBKit1.jpgAwhile back you posted some shots of Jane's apartment in 27 Dresses. I'm included some screen shots from Over Her Dead Body. While this movie definitely won't win any awards, Ashley's (Lake Bell) apartment is to die for. The open layout. The curved windows. Her gorgeous sofa. Does anyone know where I can find one like it?....

1125OHDBKit2.jpgThe detailing on the door. Even the stairs have a cute little tiled pattern on them. By the way do apartments like this actually exist? I'm sure it would be way out of my price range but WOW! Any leads to where to look for apartments like this in Los Angeles? -CB

CB: there are plenty of apartments and homes with these sort of Spanish/Mediterranean architectural details throughout Los Angeles. Try out looking in neighborhoods like Hollywood, parts of Silver Lake and especially in Los Feliz, where the courtyard style architecture seems available around every corner (we used to live in a Spanish Colonial residence near the St. George Reservoir years ago and noted their abundance). But you're right...these don't come cheap (though "affordable" is subjective). Be ready to pay $1500+ for a one bedroom with the sort of details you're looking for.

This look like the same apartment and kitchen from the show "Chuck"

I wish I could help out, it's a very cool apartment.

This has reminded me of how much I'd do anything to own the leather sofa from Imagine Me & You. DROOL.

Pasadena and points east are also a good place to look--Boyle Heights, Lincoln Heights, Highland Park, Garvanza, Eagle Rock. Also, south of Wilshire.
