Good Questions: Coffee table to match couch?

Hi Michal, your couch looks beautiful and there are definitely a ton of options for you out there. How much room do you have in front and around the sofa? Depending on how far out you can go may help in defining what size coffee table you need. You might want to consider a few of these options: This nice long rectangular wood one from Crate&Barrel, or something sleek like this one from Cb2, or another idea might be to have two smaller tables, like these popular Lack ones from IKEA, which are great if you're going to throw a party. I'm sure our AT readers might have other suggestions as well- What do you guys recommend for Michal?

The chrome and glass table like the one Jonathon recommened from CB2 would be beautiful. Something to consider for the sofa since it so deep are bolster pillows that you could put at the back of the sofa. A bolster is small enough since the back of the sofa looks pretty low and it will keep your friends feet from dangling off the edge of the sofa! Do you have anything over the sofa. Of course we have to offer advice on the whole room, not just what you asked help with! It is a long sofa so a series of pictures or 3-D art would be great. Good luck.

Thank you for the recommendations. The sofa is from Room Service on Third Street. It is the New Deep Sofa. I love the Crate and Barrel Dovetail Table that Jonothan recommended, but do you think it's too high considering the seats are 14 inches and the dovetail table is 17 inches? I don't know the decorator "rule of thumb" fo coffee table vs. sofa heights.

I think you should have gone with a coach that is more skin toned in color - almost a nude...

With a sofa that expansive, you could get away with two 36"x36"x12" "Barbarella" coffee tables by BluDot. [BluDot has a showroom at H.D. Buttercup at the Helms Bakery in Culver City.] Since you're an Angeleno (I'm assuming this since you purchased the sofa at Room Service), you should also check out the reasonably-priced options for low, large modern coffee tables at Interior Illusions (Santa Monica Blvd, east of La Cienega), Plushpod (3rd St, next door to Toast) and Bamboo Colony (Beverly Blvd, across the street from Pan Pacific Park). Other than that, your best options for large, low coffee tables would be to go high-end and hit the showrooms around Robertson and Beverly. I saw a sweet large square marble coffee table that was only 6" high. Stunning, but way too pricey for me. (I ended up going with 2 $39 IKEA 35.5"x35.5"x12" white-laminate coffee tables for my living room. Unfortunately, the tables were just recently discontinued.)

I think a 1950's longboard-style Lane coffee table with the blonde dovetail edges would compliment your couch.
