When maximizing space, it's a creative challenge to find room for all of your cherished belongings let alone day-to-day things, like cleaning supplies. ATLA reader, joe_g, sent us a question asking for help on how to conceal these products.
"Hi AT, I really need your help! I enjoy my outdoor patio to relax and entertain friends. I also need to keep my cleaning supplies out there, like the broom, mop etc., since I have no room inside. This narrow section of the patio is perfect for the supplies but they are such an eye sore. Any ideas on how to conceal them? Obviously they are tall and most storage units I have found to put them in are too bulky?"

here are some ideas

We had a similar predicament in our kitchen/dining area. Our solution was to corner everything and conceal with one of those asian inspired tri-fold screens, and put a large planter with an indoor palm tree in front of the screen to creat a sense of ambiance. Hope this helps!

Sometimes I see old school lockers for sale on Craigslist, that might be nice. Otherwise, I would get everything up on the wall with some sort of cabinets/cupboards, or even baskets. Definitely something closed so you don't have to look at it.

I like Yuliz idea - and if you hang a couple more hooks on the wall, or a grundthal type rack with S hooks on it, you could get a lot of the stuff flush against the wall behind the screen.
If the floor space on the deck is limited hang a curtain rail and use an outdoor fabric to make a simple curtain or a suitable shower curtain to hide everything - I recall AT had ones made out of the sails of tall ships recently that looked cool.

I'm thinking an Ikea hack of some sort. It's hard to tell from this pic, but it looks like the door opens away from the corner, which means you could put something on the patio in front of the stationary part of the door.
Since you like to entertain out on the patio, I was thinking along the lines of building a small bar/buffet type thing using two tall pieces on each side, with the counter in the middle. Then you could hide the cleaning, and serve off the same piece.
Anybody see where I'm going with this, and improve on this general idea?

I once saw someone screen off outdoor supplies/machinery with an attractive shower curtain -- they're waterproof.

How about a framed piece of trellis? Put some "feet" on it - so that is sits out 8-10" from the wall. YOu can purchase pre-cut & framed pieces at lumber stores.
You can put hooks on the wall to hold your cleaning supplies and hide them behind the trellis. You could also put a large decorative window box or planter on the ground in front of the screen - plant some morning glories or ivy and train it to grow up the trellis.

Here we go - simple, affordable, and easy:
1. Get some 3M hooks - I find that the best ones are the standard medium size wall hooks. Hang the hooks at eye level (what is it - 54-on-center? Something like that) all across that short wall.
2. Get some ribbon or twine and tie loops the to the holes of each of the tools to hang from. They should be about five inches in circumference.
3. Get two eye hooks and screw them into the ceiling, about two inches from the wall, at either end of that short space.
4. String wire between the eyehooks. Make sure it's tight (do this AFTER the next step if you want to hang a curtain using the pocket method)!
5. From here, you can either stitch a pocket into a long drape and hang it from the wire, or you can use decorate clips to secure it to the wire, or you can use S-hooks and grommets, or you can use tabs, or you can use ribbons, or...or...or... The sky's the limit as to how you do this.
6. If you're a traditionalist, I'd match the fabric that you're concealing with the curtains on your window. If you're mod like me, choose a new, bright color to go on that wall and incorporate into the scheme somehow. If you're a romantic, screw a couple more eyehooks in between the two in the ceiling and suspend a mirror in front of a floaty sort of fabric. If you're a folksy sort, find a gingham or print, and suspend pictures in front of it.
7. If you want to put SOMETHING in front of that curtain but aren't sure what, for now, just set a small (small!) table and a house plant there for a focal point and conversation piece. This is a good place to plant some herbs, since you appear to have a slider RIGHT there.

Addendum, since I just realized that this was outdoors:
7a. A good "outdoor" curtain is one using outdoor fabrics (these are specifically marked in the fabric store) or an interesting, obviously not transparent, shower curtain.

You could attach a painted pegboard along the wall to hang your supplies!

To prevent spending on cleaning supply organization, use my bucket to hold all my cleaners under the sink.

I think you should just put everything in a small storage shed like this Garden Shed. That way the area will look neat whenever there are guests in the patio area and it will be organized.
