An e-mail from Jimmy: I am 30 and am trying to transition my place from college/late-twenties-party pad to contemporary, modern, classy pad. I want it to be very SEXY! I'm buying a Tempur-Pedic king sized mattress and I've been looking for the perfect low profile frame to sit it in.
I want something that has hidden compartments/drawers. Some very dim lighting built it would be cool but is not mandatory. I want my place to be cool and not cheesy. Can you help?

try the reve bed in cal king from DWR - chic, sexy, italian - YUMMY
This is a nice one from West Elm. I'm guessing if you're just out of college you may be on a bit of a budget. This one's only $299 for a king. It doesn't have the storage you seek, but I have a similar bed and I just slide sleek, modern baskets underneath my bed for storage.

Blu Dot Modulicious Bed.
I've been on this very quest for about three years. I have a small bedroom and a house with only two closets in the whole place, so everything has to do double-duty as storage.
I found one bed from Hold Everything, but they went out of business. Last weekend I found a terrific bed -- though both too big for my needs -- at H.D. Buttercup in Culver City. One was a low-slung platform bed with a rim of 8 inch-square timbers, that it turns out were drawers that were 8" deep. No way would it fit in my house, but it was really dramatic.
I would recommed the Lucca bed which isn't inexpensive but I saved for a year and feel it was worth it. I bought from overstock.com w/ free shipping. It has a lot of storage and we have disassembled and moved a couple times without problem. Also because of the solid headboard it could even be a room divider. I'd also look on craigs as someone might be getting rid of an old waterbed base which might also work. I've converted one to a regular bed and it is great. Good luck.
