Good Questions: Similar/more affordable pendant lamp?

Hi AT, My boyfriend and I love the look of this awesome pendant light by Jef Designs, however, we are not crazy about the $300+ price tag. Does anyone know where we might find a similar look for a lower price?

We're throwing this out to our savvy AT:LA readers- Has anyone seen anything out there? One idea, if you're feeling crafty... this could be an interesting DIY project. You might be able to customize a plain frosted glass cylinder pendant light with strips of wood veneer (or maybe even some dark woodgrain contact paper?!) Anyone else have any suggestions?

$300 to much? I guess $30 less isn't much help, but it is a cool (I think cooler) cylinder birch pendant-
