Janet is curious if anyone knows of a source:
"Hi AT, Does anyone know where one can buy colored subway tiles in So. Cal? We're looking for subway tiles, whoesale or at a good price in Cream or Almond, but not white. Any ideas? I'm coming up dry...it's for a kitchen.

you can get them at Home Expo in Westwood. I might also try Dal-Tile -- they have locations in Santa Monica and Culver City. I believe even Home Depot carries cheap subway tiles though they might only be in white.
Hi Janet:
I found some beautiful celadon green subway tile at Discount Tile on Venice Blvd near La Cienega...
You mght want to check out B&W tile In Gardena, Ca. The manufacture the tile they sell, so you can get it in any shape you desire. They've been in biz for some 60 years and still make tiles in the exact same colors that were big way-back-when. I needed to repair some retro pink tile in my 1950 home's bathroom and their tile matched exactly. I ecen got a matching pink soap dish and towel rack to install in the tub area. In fact, it's probable that B&W manufactured my original pink tiles. They have retro yellow, aqua, brown, green, baby blue, etc. Finally, don't expect charming sales help --especially from the owner. But hang in there, you'll get what you need at an incredibe price.
Hope this helps. Good luck, JST
Me again -- very sorry--overlooked that you wanted white or off-white. Oops. I'm sure B&W has those too. In fact, I'm going to be in the market for off-white subway tiles soon too for my kitchen. They're good looking, no question about it...JST
Dal Tile makes them in white and almond. 3 x 6 and a brick joint in a 2 x 4. Their white and almond comes in a couple of different shades, they are made to match Koehler fixtures. Also comes in matte and gloss. No I am not a Dal Tile rep, I just use their product a lot.
Good Luck
I purchased some white subway tile from B&W last year for a kitchen backsplash project - they also had off-white/cream tile. Ditto the recommendation for Discount Tile on Venice Blvd -they also have subway tile in off-white/cream as well. Discount Tile may also give you a sample so you can check out how the color coordinate with your fixtures, etc.
Dal Tile worked best for me. I ordered through Do It Best in Oxnard. They had the almond subways I wanted for a renovation I'm doing at my parent's 1950's house. I got exactly what I wanted at a very good price from them. Since I live in LA, I'm excited to check out Discount Tile.
I know a store in California that carries great selection of handmade Moroccan subway tiles called Saint Tropez Boutique.
They have some beautiful handmade tiles, check them out here:
