Good Questions: Sweet Juniper's Bookshelf?
Los Angeles

031609atlaBookcase.jpgSo, I've been looking for the bookshelf featured in this photograph and it has been driving me a little batty. I know I've seen it around, but I have no clue as to who the designer is or whether it's something I can find in a store. Does anyone know about this bookshelf? Thank you, Shaiya

Got a good question you'd like answered? Send your queries and a photo or two illustrating your question, and we'll see if the ATLA team or our readers can help you out.

I could have sworn that is was from Ikea. However, I don't see it online. Maybe it is in the catalog. Hope this helps!

From this angle they look just like a white version of our Ikea shelves. I just looked on their site though and I can't find them for sale on there anymore. Maybe you'll find them on Craigslist? Ebay?

It's the Ikea Enetri shelf, which is discontinued.

Yeah, Ikea discontinued, but comes up on CL all the time. Here's one in black: http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/fuo/1076783191.html

another black one: http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/fuo/1076452347.html

I'm sure if you are patient, a white one like the one in the picture will show up soon.

Even though the ENETRI is discontinued, I've also had really good luck finding them floating around on CraigsList for very cheap - I got two of them in two different colors. They hold up really well too.

who cares about the boring shelves, what is that corporate porn painting of a company building? i love that 60's business art that made everything look fab, even tho suburbia sucks in reality.

Out of curiosity, just checked on SF Bay Area CL and there's one in white in Berkeley for $35. Don't know exactly where you are, but if you come up to the Bay Area for some reason, it says the unit is collapsible, so you could just put in the back of your car and take it home. Here's the link.

Books by hue is a trend that really needs to end. It makes anyone who does it, look like an illiterate who has them there for decoration.

I was just in the Container Store the other day and saw a line of booksleves with a similar appearance in the steel frame.

Expect to pay Container Store Prices, though. 8^(

Craigslist, as mentioned before, is your best bet at this time.

Good luck, too, because it's a fantastic shelf.

Hi there! As mentioned above, be sure to check Craigslist. I just bought two of these yesterday for $10 each.

I bought mine half price from IKEA in 1987, because they stopped making them. White shelves on one side and black on the other side with accent colors at one end, yellow, red, green and blue". In 2005, they sold it again but with wooden shelves. Apparently they don't sell it anymore. I have seen it many times in movies and many many times in tv commercial and sitcoms.

I still LOVE mine. Good luck finding one
