Good Questions: Table to go with my Eames chairs?

Hi AT,
I am looking for a dining room table to go with my newly purchased vintage eames eiffel chairs (like the one shown here- how funny is that album cover?!). Preferably looking for an extension table, and not necessarily looking for vintage - thinking it might be good to mix it up. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hi Justine, Congratulations on your chairs! Those are classics and a solid investment! We share your thoughts about dining tables and chairs: mix it up! Because the lines of the chairs are so delicate, one way to go would be to find a streamlined wood table, similar to the one that is shown here from the Domino Magazine galleries.

Room & Board have one similar called the Kyoto, and it is also an extension table, or something like this Ellis Extension table from Crate&Barrel could be nice as well.. If you're limited on space, you could also opt for a round table, like this Nygard one from Ikea. It has a built in leaf that can seat 4-6. You could also go the complete opposite, and play off the contrast of traditional vs. modern. There's an inherent warmth to this sort of "farmhouse" style table from Pottery Barn, called the Pemberly, that could look really fresh paired with the modernity of the chairs. Really, anything goes! Do any of you have any suggestions for Justine? Please share in the comments!

I like the Noguchi Cyclone knockoff from Modernica - while not cheap, it is about half the cost of a licensed one!

I also like the Zero table from DWR with the white laminate top, about the same price as the Cyclone:

I was in the same situation, having Eames chairs myself, looked at many options and settled with very simple and classic lines of Parsons style table. One that I found to be affordable but still good looking is offered by WestElm.

I personally needed their non-extendable version but link I provided here is to one you ask for. It comes in two colors (I got one in chocolate which is wenge like).

Thanks guys! I'm so jealous - my mom just scored 6 of the eiffel chairs with the bikini covers from the salvation army for $24 each! I paid $150 each for mine though they are in excellent condition. Ah well!

Congrats on your chairs! I've got the dcw chairs and lamented on what table to pair them with for a long time. I finally decided on a very rustic but simple farm table. The mix is great.
