Good Questions: What's the paint in Lauren's Apt on The Hills

I am embarassed to admit this...here goes: Yes, yes, I watch the MTV show "The Hills." I am on a quest to find out what color the walls are painted in Lauren & Audrina's apartment. I noticed that it looks fantastic this season, paired with a stark white couch and bright orange/red accents. Has anyone else noticed this? How can we go about finding out the color? Thanks, Jenn

Oh Jenn. Don't be embarassed, it's OK. We all watch The Hills. And Rob & Big. And ok, maybe Life of Ryan. (But we draw a hard and fast line at My Super Sweet Sixteen.) Anyway, we too noticed Lauren's snazzy new charcoal paint in her living room with those fantastic red and orange pillows and lamps--a far cry from Heidi's Hollywood graffiti love-present from Spencer. (Although how many of you cheered when she hauled out the paint roller and went to town? We did!)

So, short of stalking LC and Audrina at the Roosevelt Hotel or accosting her outside of Les Deux (ugh), we found some pre-mixed paint options that are similar to Lauren's soft charcoal walls:

Sherwin WIlliams Cast Iron
Benjamin Moore Wrought Iron (2124-10) (and if that is too dark, you can go a shade lighter with Benjamin Moore Hearthstone 1601).
Behr Dusty Mountain Interior Flat Enamel 790D-6

Anyone else have any suggestions?

I suppose it was inevitable. AT was the only blog I read that hadn't yet posted on The Hills. Oh, well.

Yes, I love the colors in that photo. But the ceramic sheetah... yikes! (Also, keep your video games out of the dining room.)

Spencer'll have a few more surprises by the end of the Season, I am sure....

Happy to report: I have never even heard of The Hills.

On another note, I'm very happy with Behr's Dark Granite (780F-6).

I think Gretchen has it already!

It seems to photograph the same and I think that the Behr choice in the post has too much brown to be the one.

I too love the colors and have been trying to replicate it in my own apartment. The two colors I'm between are BM Wolf Gray and BM Gunmetal. Also liked BM Kitty Gray but it's got more green undertones than I want.

Gretchen, does the Behr Dark Granite have blue undertones?

Does anyone know where the white couch is from ? I am on the hunt for a fabulous white couch but I don't want it to be too sloppy. Any suggestions ?

Try RL Silver Cuff Links. Very pretty, dark charcoal. It's been stolen from my living room several times already....the leftover paint walked out with a visitor two days after I finished painting...even the guy mixing the paint was like "Now THAT'S a sexy color." Heh.

I love the paint on Lauren and Audrina's apartment in Season 2 of the hills. I don't care how fake the show may be, I love it. I think I have found the color on their walls! It is by Kelly-Moore: Deep Muddy KM666-D. It is on their old color wheel from 2004, so I don't know if it is on their new wheels.

What is up with people being so bashful about their addiction to the Hills?
