Good Questions: Where Can I Find Box Shelves?
Los Angeles

092308_gqbox.jpgI have been SEARCHING for something similar to the shelves/boxes on the wall in this photo, only deeper as to accomodate a small lamp and a book, in order to turn it into a nightstand. I have considered making something myself, but I am so not crafty that way, and I would end up wasting a lot of time and money on that project.

Thanks!
Sabrina

I've been looking for the same thing ever since I saw a lovely picture in Martha Stewart of a box turned bedside table that seemed to float by the bed.

Nice trys, but I don't think any of these are deep enough. You need about 16"-18" depth for a decent bedside table.

it wouldn't be *too* hard to make yourself-- you can buy the wood from home depot, and they can cut the 45ยบ angles for you. then just wood glue them together, find someone with a nail gun to reinforce it, and paint it black.

I've seen the ones at Crate and Barrel and Target before, but at just 6" deep, like quiltmaster said, they're just too narrow to make into a nightstand.

Natural Surroundings - YES! That's exactly what started the whole thing! I saw the nightstand in a Martha Stewart magazine, and when I checked the sources, the company was either no longer in business or was no longer making the nightstands.

die_Maus - Hmmm...Now that you mention having the hardware store make the cuts, maybe it wouldn't be too hard to do myself. Maybe I'll give that a try.

Thanks everyone!
Sabrina
