Q - My girlfriend and I recently moved in together and have been on a furnishing spree. I spotted a pair of these chairs Craigslist and bought them with the intention of reupholstering them down the line. We've now decided to make a couple of pricey purchases and upgrade our bed and mattress and could use some extra cash. Were debating on selling these chairs now as she wants something a little more "Hollywood glam" anyway…
My description would be mid-century-tufted-barrel style chairs. I can’t find anything online like them and don't really know anything about them. Even if we don’t end up selling them I’d still like to know what we got.
Thanks for any help you can provide AT readers and thanks to everyone for all the inspiration and ideas.

Editor - We love these chairs with their tufted backs and unique legs (they seem too small, like a bodybuilder in too small trousers). Anyone have an idea of who designed/manufactured Hernan's Craigslist find?

Very nice chairs, would look so good with a bold print cushion in a similar shade and a soft white cashmere or woolly throw. I'd love them for myself, if I lived local..

sell them not that attractive especially since you are asking whether to keep them or not.

i would not call these barrel chairs, though i understand why you lean that way because of the rounded shape.
i'd simply label them mcm tufted (leather?) armchairs.

Stylistically they look awkward with that widish seat and the dainty pedistal like spindly legs so I wonder if they were some lower end knock off or simply an inexpensive contemporary chair of some sort.
It's hard to tell what they really are but kinda, sorta look like barrel chairs, nor do they look like slipper chairs either but interesting non the less.
I get the feeling it's leatherette or vinyl covered however and may actually be as late as the very early 60's.
