LA Good Questions: Help Identify This Bed Frame

042808tatlagoodquest01.jpgATLA reader David has a bed frame he's dying to identify. Anyone out there recognize this metal frame? A few more photos of the mystery bed under the jump.

I'm having a hard time identifying this bed that I own and I was hoping that maybe you could help? It was given to me years ago by a friend who had really great stuff. Unfortuantely we no longer speak, but it's come time to sell the bed as I need to upgrade in size and I have no idea how to describe or sell this thing. I know these are not the best pictures as they are old and were not taken for the purpose of trying to sell it. However the bed is now in pieces down in my garage and these are the only complete pictures I own.

042808tatlagoodquest02.jpgThe material is metal, color is black. It's got the weird cage like headboard and the legs split off. I have a feeling it might just be an older Z Gallerie or crate and barreel style bed, or perhaps it is vintage of some sort? I have no idea!!!!

Just put "black metal queen bedframe/headboard " in the description of the ad on Craigslist and include a photo. No need to get fancy.

I have that bedframe!

I don't recall the manufacturer--sorry--but I bought it from a small, independent furniture store in Downtown Toronto in 1987. The furniture store no longer exists.

Actually, the store took my order for it. Apparently, they were built somewhere in Quebec and they didn't ship them out until they had a boxcar load of them.

Did you know leather cushions where available to buy for the headboard? They would tie to the grid.
